Importing a Segmented Asset Through a Hot Folder
Note: Currently we only support .m3u8 files if they are VOD and Event types. At present we don’t support .m3u8 with the manifest of live types.
Note: From 7.0.0 onwards, whenever you run a purge action against a segmented asset (.m3u8) the whole folder structure will be purged including the folder in which the .m3u8 file exists. If you do not want the .m3u8 files to be purged, it is important to place them in a separate folder. If it is placed in same directory along with the other media files ( such as.MP4, MOV), they will be purged automatically.
Note: From 7.0.0 onwards, when you perform a purge action on a segmented asset, it will purge all the files and directories parallel to the master manifest file, including the master manifest. It is also important to take into account that Dalet Flex does not track any linked or referenced files.
You can import a segmented asset automatically as part of a workflow. This can be done by creating a hot folder that points to the location of the segmented asset. You then upload an .m3u8 file to the available VFS location, which causes a workflow to trigger automatically. The segmented asset file is then imported from the VFS location to Dalet Flex.
Note: When you place the file in the given VFS location, the workflow will trigger the upload in approximately two minutes.
Note: When configuring the hot folder, ensure the path entered in the Path field is correct. If the path is incorrect, the file cannot be imported and the workflow will fail.
Note: In order for a segmented asset to exist in MAM using the FILE protocol, the segmented proxy package must exist under /proxies folder (`/flex/flex-enterprise/storage/media/proxies/<<package directory>>).` ```‘flex/flex-mam-app/proxyBaseUrl’``` should be set as ```https://mam.<<env name>>.ooflex.net/proxies``` and ngnix should be configured in the same way.
**Note:** In order for a segmented asset to exist in MAM using S3, the segmented proxy package must be in an S3 folder. ```‘flex/flex-mam-app/segmentedAssetBaseUrl’``` should be set as ```https://mam . .<<env name>>. ooflex.net/proxies/segmented``` and ngnix should be configured the same way.
