Dalet Flex Core is split into dashboards for each object type. You can access each of these by clicking the relevant tab in the global navigation. Dashboards offer similar functionality to ensure consistency and ease of use across the system. Dashboards help you find and update information about specific objects in Dalet Flex, dependent on your role.
Tabs
The various tabs that are found on the Global Navigation help you to work with and organise objects you have created in Dalet Flex, such as workflows, assets, resources, and so on.
The standard tabs found on the Dalet Flex dashboard are as follows:
The Assets tab: Which enables you to view your existing digital assets, such as video clip and images, as well as upload new ones.
Players tab: A player instance is an object that enables you to display video and audio content on your own website, tablet or mobile application. The player definition specifies the look, feel, and behavior of the player.
Tasks tab: This displays a summary of your workflow tasks and recent activity related to your tasks. You can also access your shortcuts and saved searches for task-related events.
Jobs tab: This displays a summary of your current jobs. A job is a unit of work in Dalet Flex, such as transcode, ingest, and export.
Workflows tab: This displays the status of your workflow instances, including recent activity, and flags failed workflows.
Resources tab: This tab displays all the visible resources that are being used on the platform and the status of the resources. Examples of resource types are transcoders and storage devices.
Settings tab: Here you can search through settings, and view all of the existing objects that you have created by selecting their object types from the toolbar.
Access tab: Here you can view all of your accounts, users, groups, and roles by selecting the respective object type from the toolbar. You can also use the search features to search through all of these.
Admin tab: Here you can view and configure various things related to administration for your account, such as logs, system properties, and dead letter queue.
Setting a home page
When you log into the Dalet Flex Console, you will see the Desktop tab. The Desktop tab is set as your homepage by default. You can set a different page as your default home page if you want to. This is known as "pinning". For example, if you were to pin the Assets tab as your home page, it would become your landing page upon logging in.
Pinning and unpinning a page
To pin a page:
Navigate to the page you wish to set as your home page, e.g. the Assets tab.
In the top-right corner of the console, click the Pin the current page as your default icon.
Your chosen page is set as your home page. Now, when you log into the console from now on, your chosen page will be the first one you see.
Log out of Dalet Flex Console and log in again for the change to take effect.
To unpin a page:
In the top-right corner of the page that you have set as your home page, click the Clear current default page icon.
The page is no longer set as your home page.
Environment Version
In the bottom-left corner of each dashboard in the console, you can see which version of Dalet Flex you are currently running. For example, if you were currently running 5.1.5, it might say 5.1.5-SNAPSHOT-r67382.
