Your Start Session action is displayed on the power bar above any assets you upload to Dalet Flex:
In the main Dalet Flex console, navigate to an asset.
Click on the asset card and you are taken to the Asset Details screen.
On the power bar above the Asset Details section, click Start Session.
In the pop-up, specify the review session details, such as the reviewers in the session, the session name, the session expiry date, and so on.
When you have entered the details for your review session, click Run Now.
The review session is created. When the progress bar reaches 100%, the review session is ready. Navigate to FlexREVIEW to start the session.
A View-Only Review is when someone is assigned as a reviewer of an asset, but cannot post comments against that asset. These are usually external parties, such as a user who is not part of your organization, and so does not have access to Dalet Flex.
In order to add an external user as a reviewer, add their email address when selecting the reviewers you wish to add to the session.
Any external reviewers you have specified will be sent an email containing a link. When they click this link, they will be taken to the review session.
An exclusive review is when a specific asset can be sent to one or many recipients for review. When one user takes the review session, only that user can review that asset, unless they are released from the session.
If that user completes the review, the review will simply complete and it will be removed from the list.
You can see any active exclusive review sessions that you have the permission to see.
Review sessions can be in the following states:
Navigate to an available exclusive review session and select it from the list. An available exclusive review session has a green icon next to it.
In the Review Summary panel, click Review.
The Review session opens and you can start reviewing the asset.
When a review session has been taken by a user, the review is blocked to all other users, meaning this will be presented in a read-only mode to the remaining users. The following message is displayed to the review owner:
When a review session has been taken by another user, the icon on the right-hand side changes to red
There are two ways to release a user from a review session:
Method 1
In the review session, click the Release button, located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Method 2
In the Review Summary panel, underneath the user’s name, click the Release button.
In order to be able to release another user from a review session, the admin / initiator must have the
“Release Exclusive Review” permission selected in their role. For more information, please see the
Roles and Permissions section.
When a user is released from a review session, the icon will become green again.

A per-essence review is when you review specific parts of a segmented (HLS) media asset, such as audio tracks or subtitles. Each essence is treated as a child of the HLS asset. For example, a media asset might have multiple language tracks, and you might want to send just one specific track for review, to ensure it is correct.
