Prerequisites and Required Permissions for Xtend for Pyramid / Xtend for Flex – Support Hub

This article provides full visibility on the prerequisites and permissions required on Client workstations when installing and running Xtend for Flex and Xtend for Pyramid.

Prerequisites

Adobe Premiere must be installed on the Client machine before installing any additional plugins. Contact Dalet Support for details of the latest supported version of Adobe Premiere.

Note: Dalet uses Adobe Premiere 2026/x as part of the relevant day-to-day development tasks. There is currently no known limitation to using it with xTend, however Dalet does not have a special validation process for Flex xTend and Adobe Premiere.

NOTE: After any Adobe Premier update, a full reinstallation of the unified installer is required (Xtend for Pyramid).

Installation Permissions Requirements

To successfully install Xtend for Flex/Xtend for Pyramid on a Client machine, users must have the following rights.

Windows

All Dalet users, regardless of their workflow or used app, MUST have Write/Modify/Delete permissions to:

C:\ProgramData\Dalet\ and its sub-folders.

These permissions should be available by default for any standard Windows user.

MAC

All installers are installed within the user's environment so no special permissions are required and all installations are run as a regular user.

Runtime Permissions Requirements

The Xtend applications interact directly with Adobe Premiere/AME, and not with the end-user. Permissions are inherited from the Adobe application, which gets its permissions based on the user permissions assigned when installing Adobe Premiere.

In general, if Adobe Premiere runs with a standard user, the Xtend applications also run as standard users and have appropriate rights.

To successfully run Xtend for Flex/Xtend for Pyramid on a Client machine, users must have the following rights.

Windows

All Dalet users, regardless of their workflow, MUST have Write/Modify/Delete permissions to:

C:\ProgramData\Dalet\ and its sub-folders

C:\Users\<running user>\.cache\node-systray and its sub-folders

FlexXTEND Adobe and FlexXTEND AME must have Write/Modify/Delete permissions to:

C:\Users\<running user>\Documents\AdobeFiles\ and its sub-folders

These permissions should be available by default for any standard user.

IMPORTANT EXCEPTION
The first time the Xtend ZXP plugins run, scripts located in the /.bin are executed and retrieve information and command-line arguments from the physical platform that cannot be applied during installation.
To enable the system to modify the relevant file in the CEP folder with this information requires elevated rights and you must do ONE of the following:
Run Adobe Premiere as admin the first time it is run
OR
Give the user read/write permissions for the ZXP folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions

MAC

All Dalet users, regardless of their workflow MUST have Write/Modify/Delete permissions to:

$HOME/xtend and its sub-folders
