Purpose

Ooyala Flex 5.5.6 is a maintenance release to fix issues found in production.

What's New

Youtube Plugin now has Channel ID Specific Publishing

The YouTube Plugin always published to a private channel. Now, you can specify the ID of a channel to publish videos to.

Service crashing due to OOM prevented the merge from continuing after a restart

The metadata definition was updated by adding a new field in a system with a large number of assets (all associated with that metadata definition). This triggered a merge; however, due to memory settings, the merge service quickly ran out of memory and crashed. The second metadata merge instance did not pick this merge up, even after the first instance was restarted. The merge could only be resumed by deleting the associated row in the database (METADATA_STATUS table).

_Resolution_: The batch size was fixed to process 250 metadata instances per batch and due to that, hibernate was keeping all the metadata instances in session until the entire batch was complete. In the case of large metadata instances, this resulted in out of memory error. The code is now updated to calculate batch size based on the number of metadata variables in the metadata definition. The batch size is now defined as number of variables to be processed in the batch, rather than number of instances.

FTP servers are now retried after connection failure

Resources were showing as failed when the connection failed. The servers are now retried before marking the resources as failed.

New Naming Format

The new naming format for child assets displays -1, -2, -3 after the parent asset name.

Vantage 7.1 now supported

Ooyala Flex is now compatible with Vantage 7.1.

MAM

MAM now works in IE 11 Compatibility mode

Login on IE 11 was not as expected – text was not visible when entering username and password. Also, proxies didn't play in IE 11. These issues have now been resolved, and MAM works as expected in IE 11.

Filenames are no longer truncated

File titles and icons are separated, so as to avoid filename truncation.

Workspace names within dropdown list are now displayed with tooltips

A tooltip is now displayed for every workspace name in the dropdown list, to avoid confusion when names are truncated in the list.

Choose default carousel on browse page

A new <span class="ph uicontrol">Preset Selections</span> tab in <span class="ph uicontrol">Settings</span> allows the user to choose the default browse carousel. This tab is only visible to users with Theme permission.

Issues Fixed

Ldap dual directory auth seems broken in Flex 5.5.3

Ooyala Flex authentication was not working.

Resolution: The service was not parsing comma (and pipe) separated values. This issue has now been fixed.

Only image assets are showing in response using endpoint although matrix parameters are for image and text asset type

Only image assets were displayed in responses using an endpoint, although matrix parameters specified both image and text.

Resolution: Technical types, such as image and text, can only be specified if only one filetype is present in matrix parameters.

File uploaded twice but cannot be found

File upload was carried out twice before the first completed - however, the file was then displayed as not found.

Resolution: The file seemed to stay in the Inbox, then was removed from there after a period of time. UDID is now used for file names, and the issue no longer occurs.

Transcode job with stream processor failed randomly

Transcode jobs with stream processor failed randomly, but were then successful when retried.

Resolution: One of the transcode resources was configured as a windows instance when it was actually based on unix. The "unix" transcode wasn't able to find the file using the "windows" file path. The transcode configuration has been fixed.

Search still shows workflows that had been deleted

Workflow search still showed workflow definitions that had been disabled and deleted.

Resolution: Search no longer displays deleted workflows.

Fix foreign key constraints while deleting an asset, workflows, workflow-definitions etc via SQL stored procedure

When deleting assets, errors were displayed relating to the failure of foreign key constraints.

Resolution: Missing foreign key constraints were added, and the errors no longer display.

TimeCode class behaviour

A media file with a start time code of 23:59:xx:xx "reset" mid media and continued from 00:00:00:00.

Resolution: The formula used to calculate the time code resulted in values that were too large, which led to errors. The formula has now been adjusted, and the time code no longer resets.

Filename is 'null' when copy is done in import media of Vantage action

When the Vantage workflow action was configured with copy, the name of the copied file was ``null``.

Resolution: The correct filename is now displayed.

``<samp class="ph codeph">FTP</samp>`` **location support in Vantage resource**

When the Vantage resource was configured with ``FTP`` locations, Vantage workflow actions displayed an error.

Resolution: New support for ``FTP`` locations has been added.

A system error is displayed when a task is started

A system error was displayed when a task was started, and the asset id was blank.

Resolution: When the asset id is blank, null is now returned and the query is not executed.

Getting Error in Workflow Definition when click to graph

In a new workflow definition, when the graph button was clicked, an error was displayed.

Resolution: The error is no longer displayed.

Occasional Clips taking too long on Elemental

Some clips have taken too long on Elemental to either create all renditions, or return all renditions into Ooyala Flex.

Resolution: The delay no longer occurs.

Issues with initial Password reset mail sent by Booster

Problems occurred with the first link received after being created as a user on Ooyala Flex as a result of being added to Booster. Users could log in and reset their passwords. However, when they clicked Save, the error <``Service is not available`` was displayed. The link sent in a subsequent email worked without problems.

Resolution: The initial password link now works without problems.

MAM

Workflow/workspace list is empty in MAM search

In MAM, Advanced Search did not display any content.

Resolution: Code has been updated to load workspace details in the Advanced Search criteria panel.

MAM - cannot log into MAM on Version 5.5.6**

When users logged into MAM, they were immediately logged out.

Resolution: The problem no longer occurs.
