Purpose

Ooyala Flex 6.2.1 is a maintenance release. In this release we have made the following changes:

* FileCatalyst: FileCatalyst integration with Web Transfer.

* MAM / Reviewer:
* Increased the character limit for comments in MAM / Reviewer.
* New Transcripts sub-tab under the Comments tab in Reviewer and MAM. This tab shows the transcripts loaded by the Video Indexer for the asset.  

* Segment Proxy: Added support for multiple asset IDs in a single configuration variable for the Segment Proxy plugin.
* Publish to Facebook: Added support for publishing a video to Facebook as a draft.

 

What's New

Web Transfer: FileCatalyst Integration

We have introduced an integration between Ooyala Flex and FileCatalyst. FileCatalyst is a transfer accelerator that makes it quicker to upload batches of large files to Ooyala Flex. The difference between Ooyala Flex Web Transfer and the FileCatalyst Transfer Agent is as follows:

* Ooyala Flex Web Transfer: uses HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and TCP (Transmission Control Protocol).
* FileCatalyst Transfer Agent: uses UDP (User Datagram Protocol).

 

MAM / Reviewer: Increased Character Limit for Comments

We have increased the character limit for comments in MAM and Reviewer. Previously you could only enter 255 characters per comment. Now you can enter 2000 characters per comment.

 

Reviewer / MAM: Video Indexer Transcript Metadata Integration

We have added a Transcripts sub-tab under the Comments tab in Reviewer and MAM. This tab shows the transcripts loaded by the Video Indexer for the asset.  

Note: You can edit and delete the transcripts in active reviews in Reviewer.

 

Publish to Facebook: Support for Publishing a Video to Facebook as a Draft

We have added the ability to publish a video to Facebook as a draft. This is so that you can manually add additional data for posts such as audience restrictions, distribution, and cross posting before publishing the video to the live page.

To achieve this we have added a Publish Status field to the plugin configuration, which lets you choose either “Draft” or “Published”.

If the “Draft” option is selected, the page will be a draft page.

Segmented Proxy Action: Support for Multiple Asset IDs in a Single Config Variable

The Segmented Proxy action configuration has been changed to accept comma separated audio/video asset IDs.

From now on the workflow context variables "videoAssetIds" and "audioAssetIds" hold the audio/video asset IDs list after the Demux job has executed. These can be used in an expression in a single textbox value.

Note: The workflow variables videoAssetId1, videoAssetId2… are no longer available from 6.2.1 onwards.

 

New SDK Field: parentGroupAssetId

We have added a new ``parentGroupAssetId`` field to the 'NewAssetPlaceholder' object.

This field enables you to add group assets into to an AssetPlaceHolder.
