How To: Extract and Import Subtitles in Dalet Flex

This quick guide will explain how to import and extract subtitles into Dalet Flex.

Import subtitle -denotes the import of a subtitle that only you see in Flex.
Extract subtitle - denotes extracting subtitle and subtitle technical metadata from a video file.

This articles assumes that:

• Subtitle Configuration has been done.
• Extract Actions have been defined.

How to create Extract Subtitle Technical Metadata Action

• Create a Subtitle Asset placeholder
• Create an Import Action and point S3/File path to pull the .srt/.vtt file

Create an 'Extract Action' with plugin Extract Subtitle Technical Metadata.
Fill the details and select plugin `Extract Technical Metadata.
Configuration not required for Extract Subtitle Technical Metadata.
Go to Subtitle asset aforementioned in the pre-requisite and click on Extract Select the extract action created in step#1
Result:
Once the job is executed, the file contains language, filetype and others details will be available in the subtitle asset under File Tab.
