Dalet Flex 2021.3.0 Release Notes

Dalet is excited to present the March 2021 release of Dalet Flex 2021.3.0.

This release of Dalet Flex provides the new features, quality and security enhancements, bug fixes, and other changes listed below.

Flex 2021.3.0 is an interim release track, allowing customers to make use of the latest functionality and bug fixes in Flex before the next LTS (Long Term Supported) release track becomes available.

External Hazelcast

From this release onward, Hazelcast is no longer hosted by service (as an embedded service). It is now hosted externally as a separate service. The affected services are Flex Enterprise and Flex Write Object. When upgrading from any release older than 2021.3.0, separate hazelcast cluster will need to be deployed. The Hazelcast cluster is now mandatory dependency for Flex Enterprise and Flex Write Object.

However, this change is behind feature toggle to fallback using the embedded version of Hazelcast in case if it is required. By default, services will be using external Hazelcast, set Consul KV flex/shared/featureToggles/disableExternalHazelcast to “true” to disable the use of external Hazelcast. Please note that this KV is shared by both Flex Enterprise and Flex Write Object so both services require restart after adding/making any change to this KV.

FlexXTEND Adobe Panel

This release introduces FlexXTEND Adobe Panel, which is an enhanced version of Flex Premiere Panel. This release includes the following updates and features:

• Moved the Adobe Flex panel to Angular to match Flex standard library, meaning that FlexMAM & Panel user experiences are now consistent
• FlexMAM search/collection functions can now be used in the FlexXTEND Adobe Panel, i.e. workspaces and taxonomies
• Updated the Flex Logo in the FlexXTEND Adobe Panel screens

We encourage users to update to 2021.3.0 and replace Flex Premiere Panel with FlexXTEND Adobe Panel. Please contact your Dalet customer representative to obtain the ZXP (Version: 1.0.0) in order to deploy FlexXTEND Adobe Panel.

New Actions

A number of new scripting actions are being released in this version, and should be used going forward. These replace the existing scripting actions, although these still exist to ensure backwards compatibility. These new scripting actions use a new Flex SDK, which can be obtained from your Flex representative. The new scripting plugins are:

FlexMAM

 Enhancements

General

• Users can now search and filter markers within FlexMAM by Groups preconfigured in Metadata Designer.
• Special characters ",%,@,*,^,~ can now be used in Workspace names.
• Object type IDs will now be used instead of names when forming a standard query from FMP.
• Field descriptions tooltips have been added on metadata forms.

Search

• Users now have the ability to change the ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ operators between search filter chips
• When selecting or entering multiple values from the same category root, the default operator will now be ‘OR’.

Admin App

• Users now have the ability to set the account background image for the login app
• Users can now select the audio track order and date and time format

Fixed Issues

• Fixed an issue where Marker results view may have an offset between marker I/O points and player position
• Fixed an issue where video asset duration shows 00:00:00 inside a Group asset
• Fixed an issue where an error occurs when creating a collection and selecting a variant and metadata definition which contains a mandatory variable.
• Fixed an issue where items are not appearing into a collection (Clip Bin)
• Fixed an issue where selecting the Keyframe tab refreshes the player background on audio assets
• Fixed an issue where the image proxy service forces keyframe downloads.
• Fixed an issue where saving Metadata on the manage page was causing it to update twice.
